Matt Anderson is a 2007 OF/1B, UT with a 6'1'', 172 lb. frame from Santa Maria, CA, who attends Righetti HS. Anderson has a tall and projectable frame. Defensively he has position flexibility and can play first base and the outfield. He has solid actions around the first base bag, and has a slinging arm action on his throws. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a slightly open and crouched stance. Anderson uses his hands well at the plate with a line drive swing plane. He has a fluid swing with a good weight shift into contact. Anderson explodes to the ball with an aggressive swing that produces projectable power, and he smoked a double down the right field line in a showcase game. Shows bat control and an ability to center the ball. Anderson is a follow, and is a very good student as well.
