McCann is a 6-1, 195 lb right handed pitcher from Missouri with a strong, athletic body. He has a smooth, easy arm action from a standard 3/4's release point. McCann's delivery mechanics are pretty good and balanced, although he tends to open early and fall off a bit on release like most young pitchers. McCann threw 80-81 mph and his fastball looked heavy down in the strike zone. He varied the speed and break on his slider between the low and mid 70's, with the slower slider having a larger, wider break. Both were pretty good pitches. We've seen McCann throw much harder in the past and suspect that he's had a busy spring and summer and has got lots of innings under his belt. Everything else was working well with his delivery and arm, though. Good follow. Good student.
