2005 Ohio Valley Top Prospect
Kasey Kearcher is a 2006 LHP/OF from Mattawan HS in Kalamazoo, MI, with a 6'4'', 170 lb. frame. He has a tall, lean build with broad shoulders and very good projectability. Kearcher has a drop and drive delivery style with a long, loose arm action and a low 3/4's release point. He throws with little effort and repeats his delivery well, which leads to good command of his pitches. Kearcher's fastball topped out at 85 mph, very good for a young, projectable southpaw, and Kearcher predictably got good arm side life on his fastball from the low release point. Kearcher's curveball was a 67 mph slurve type pitch with an early, big break to it. His 63 mph change up was a good pitch with sink and arm side run, although Kearcher could probably throw it harder to give a smaller velocity difference between that pitch and his fastball. Kearcher is a very high level prospect who should continue to improve. Must Follow!
