Braxton Graven is a 2006 1B/P OF from Trinity HS in Louisville, KY, with a slender and athletic 6'0'', 170 lb. frame. He ran the 60 in 7.46 and threw 79 mph during infield drills from first base. Graven showed good range and agility at first base and soft hands. He also plays some outfield and has the athletic ability to handle that position from what we saw. Graven hits from a balanced stance with a deep load and a short stride. He has some lift to his swing and has nice bat speed. His best contact was to right centerfield and he showed he could reach the gaps. He made solid consistent contact during the games. On the mound, Graven pitched at 78-80 with his fastball. His curveball was 64 mph with a big break. His best pitch was a 69 mph change up with good sink and fade. Graven has three developing pitches and the ability to use him. He could be a potential two-way prospect at the right college level.
