Rhys Harris is a 2017 RHP with a 6-7 225 lb. frame from League City, TX who attends Clear Falls HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and long limbs, present strength to frame with additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a simple side step, compact leg lift up past belt, does a nice job of getting tall on back side, short but on line stride down the mound. Shows a full arm action through the backside and works to an extended three-quarters release point. Uses size well to create angle on fastball when down in the zone, topped out at 79 mph and velocity continued to improve throughout the three innings on the mound. Filled up the zone with fastball and pitches to contact with it, short running life to the arm side. Shows lots of confidence with 12-6 shaped low-60s curveball, could throw for strikes in any count and did so often and with comfort. Very good student.
