Daniel Loats is a 2014 OF/RHP with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Eden Prairie, MN who attends Eden Prairie. Loats has a large frame with a projectable build. Defensively he has good actions in the outfield with good footwork through the baseball. Loats has good arm strength and carry on his throws with velocity up to 89 MPH. The ball comes out of his hand clean and he made accurate throws. At the plate, Loats starts with his hands by his ear and has quick hands to the baseball. He has some bat speed and gets extension at contact. He has good leverage and showed some power and power potential. Loats pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He throws a 12/6 curveball with good bite to it. He also throws a change up at 76 MPH. He's a good two way prospect. Very good student, named to Top Prospect Team.
