2013 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Nick Schumacher is a 2014 1B/RHP with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Folsom, CA who attends Vista Del Lago HS. Tall, big frame, thick build. Primary first basemen but showed as much, if not more potential on the mound. Pitches from a high three quarters arm slot, good extension out front, pitches downhill, inconsistent balance. Good spin on curveball, mechanics are still a work in progress but clean arm action and good physical tools to develop on the mound. Good strength in swing, has bat speed, mechanics and lack of balance creating timing issues, has raw power. Good student.
