Emmanuel Jeffery is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn-Mar. Medium athletic frame with solid build. At the plate shows a leg lift trigger and loads to a strong position with the hands. Mid-field approach with a line drive swing plane, hand quickness allows for hard pull side contact and the ability to shoot the ball to opposite field. Shows some present strength to reach the gaps with projection to develop more gap power. Will drop hands on load at times and create an uphill path. Hitting tools project with added strength. Defensively worked out from the outfield. Smooth athletic actions through the baseball with clean glove to hand transitions. Long overtop arm action with a clean release topping at 83 mph. Throws produced on line carry with accuracy. Tends to throw uphill at times. Pitched showing simple, repeatable mechanics. Shows a high leg raise to balance point and generates some downhill angle. Plus command with fastball to arm side in the mid 70's. Curveball has 1/7 shape with some depth. Good feed for both pitches and pounds the strike zone. Higher ceiling as a outfield prospect. Very good student as well.
