John Sturgis is a 2016 LHP with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Beaufort, SC who attends Beaufort. Large frame, long lanky build. Pitches from an over the top arm slot with a long arm action. Very low hand break creates length through back of arm action, strides towards third base side of the mound, still growing into long lanky frame and developing coordination to delivery. Soft 1-7 curveball with big depth to break. Good footwork defensively at 1B, spread stance at the plate, short hand path, noisy setup and load. Good student.
