Jake Pfeiffer is a 2017 3B/RHP, SS with a 6-1 193 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Coronado. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders and nice present strength on his frame. Primary third baseman, takes short steps to the ball, fields the ball out front, stands tall at release, short arm action on throws across with arm strength that will continue to develop. Also pitched, throws from an over the top arm slot with a short arm action in the back. Full hand path, compact delivery with a small hip turn at top and short stride down the mound. Fastball topped out at 77 mph and worked low in the zone with it and showed an 11-5 curveball at 70 mph, threw a lot of strikes. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open stance with a high hand set. Shows a short and compact swing path and creates some leverage, quiet hand set, shows ability to hit to all fields and gets the barrel through the zone. Outstanding student.
