Robbie Santos is a 2008 left handed pitcher from Mission Bay HS, residing in San Diego, CA. He has a 6'1" 185 lb. frame and a strong, athletic build that is well-proportioned. His can be classified as a good pitcher's body. Santos possesses decent arm speed and a long arm stroke that can create some leverage. His body control is good and his delivery is fluid, with some rhythm that that allows him to deliver the ball on time. His fastball has very good sinking action and he also showed the ability to keep the fastball on line, such as being able to start it off the plate and end it just off the plate, without it being straight. Santos topped out at 82 but there should be some more in there. His curveball is a quality offering and usable in both plus and minus counts. The action is sort of a "do drop in" breaking ball, big with late drop into the zone. He spins it and controls the curveball well. Santos also possesses a good change-up that had some arm side fading action. His three-pitch mix is a good repertoire that will play well in college baseball (even if he only gains a few more mph) and he showed the ability to throw strikes with each pitch.
