Ben Hilsenbeck is a 2014 RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Linn-Mar HS. Tall slender low waisted build, long loose arms. Submarine pitching style, way down under on release, loose whippy arm, works exclusively from the stretch. Fastball topped at 81 mph, lots of the expected run and sink, throws consistent strikes with fastball and tries to move it in and out, got inside on many right handed hitter's hands and was effective. Rare change up and no breaking balls, must learn other pitches and mix it up to take advantage of deception, has an idea with his fastball.
