Josh Eckerman is a 2015 3B/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Dayton, TX who attends Dayton HS. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.06 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, full arm circle with a long release and strength on throws across. Loose arm action, moves well on feet and shows strength off back foot, accuracy throws from multiple arm slots. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a full arm action coming through the back. Slight hip turn at top with a high leg raise delivery. Filled up strike zone with fastball which topped at 84 mph with true life and showed a nice feel for a late breaking 11-5 curveball. Right-handed hitter, starts with a low hand set and a crouched stance. Creates leverage in swing and looks to lift, nice bat speed coming through the zone. Swings hard, front side opens early, creates consistent contact to pull side. Outstanding student. Named to South Underclass Top Prospect List.
