Riley Thompson is a 2014 OF/RHP with a 6-1 187 lb. frame from Owatonna, MN who attends Owatonna. Thompson has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he has solid footwork to the baseball in the outfield with solid actions. Thompson uses a short arm action with developing arm strength up to 77 MPH. He can get more use of his lower half to increase velocity and he makes accurate throws. At the plate, Thompson starts from a crouched stance with his hands away from his body. He has a pigeon toed stance and loads up well. Thompson showed solid contact skills and he has some raw power. He showed solid raw hitting tools with some bat speed. Thompson pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a tight release. He has some sink on his fastball and he also throws an 11/5 CB.
