Chase Hawthorne is a 2014 1B/RHP with a 6-5 225 lb. frame from Houma, LA who attends Vandebilt Catholic HS. Extra large, strong, projectable body. Flashes good arm strength at first base, short arm action, and shows good hands and actions. Hits from an upright stance, good pull side power, more potential there, has an uppercut swing path, will improve with maturity. Also pitches, more upside on the mound. Perfect pitcher's frame, pitches at 82-84 mph with his fastball, 3/4 arm slot, gets downhill and uses his size. Throws a heavy ball, also mixes 11-5 CB at 73 mph that flashes good bite. High upside arm. Good student.
