Mambuca is a strong and powerful 5-10, 220 lb junior first baseman from Florida. He runs pretty well for his size, 7.46 on the slow track, and threw 72 mph across the infield. Mambuca hits out of a wide stance with a rock back load and has very strong hands that he uses well in his swing. He generates very good bat speed and showed both power and bat control during games and in batting practice. He was especially good on balls down in the strike zone. This kid is a very good hitting prospect who can drive the ball right now with wood. Mambuca is going to have to be careful about staying in shape and keeping his weight under control, but if he can do that he can be a run producer at the next level.
