Erik Patterson is a 2014 3B/RHP with a 6-4 212 lb. frame from Brazoria, TX who attends Columbia HS. Large well proportioned build, good present strength. Right handed hitter, back side hitter, limited shift into contact, good hand path into contact, stays short to the ball for his size, has strength in his swing, didn't show power in BP but showed it in the game, hard pull contact, has hitting tools to develop. 3B/1B type defensively, long extended arm action, has some body control and athleticism, 7.23 runner, tends to get ground balls between hops. Also pitched, fastball to 82 mph, gets downhill well from 3/4's arm slot, full wind up, repeats delivery well and stays on line well, good extension out front, change up has nice sinking action, rare curveball, some skills as a secondary pitcher. Good student.
