Adam Johnson is a 2013 RHP/OF, 3B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Brentwood, TN who attends Brentwood High School. Thin lanky build with room to fill. Pitches from a very deceptive low three quarters arm slot, sharp angle to plate from the 3B side, releases the ball coming from behind right handed hitters. Long arm action, violent and deceptive delivery, very difficult for hitters to pick up the ball. Hard arm side run on fastball, long stride, releases a bit closer to the plate than most pitchers his size. Pounded the strike zone, tight two plane breaking ball with sharp late break. Very high level pitching prospect. Showed well in OF workout and BP as well, but ability on mound is what really stands out. Very good student.
