John Long is a 2014 2B/RHP with a 5-6 144 lb. frame from Telford, TN who attends David Crockett HS. Smaller build, young look, developing strength. Left handed hitter, short swing with limited weight shift, stays inside, line drive swing plane, has some strength in his hands, occasional hard pull contact, could extend better. High energy defender, goes after ball hard, speed and arm strength still developing. Showed promise in game action behind the plate, looked comfortable, might be best position when arm develops, didn't catch in drills. Good student.
