McDougall is a stalky-built right-hander who has a handle on how to get outs without the velocity of a Major Leaguer. He comes from a 3/4 arm slot throwing a 76-78 mph fastball and 61-63 mph curveball. Those pitches ordinarily would have little effectiveness, but mixed in with a deceptive 64 mph change-up and used in the odd counts proved to be successful. He has little projection, but showcased his ability to pitch. There is a College that will want to put him on their staff and watch him frustrate the opposition. Excellent student.
