Blaine Ivey is a 2006 outfielder from Baton Rouge, LA, with a long frame and lean athletic build at 6-2 185 lbs. Defensively, he showed very active feet and athletic actions. His athleticism allowed him to get his body in a good throwing position and run through balls in the outfield. He ran a 7.02 in the 60. He showed a clean accurate throwing arm with good strength at 82 mph and carry. He hits from a slightly closed stance with a no load, short stride approach. He is a big strong kid and he generates good bat speed with a line drive swing path. He makes solid contact and he uses the whole field. During the game one ball was recorded off the bat at 89 mph. He is an athletic player with a projectable build and he will be a high level college prospect for 2006.
