Mike Voitik is a 2005 infielder from Illinois who appears significantly larger than his listed 5'8", 165 lb. frame. A switch hitter, he hits from a no load approach with no trigger and good balance in his swing. Voitik’s approach means that most of his contact is going to be towards the middle of the field or to opposite field. He has some good hand strength and hit some balls with lots of authority. Defensively, Voitik has good smooth infield actions, nice hands and a flexible arm that showed the ability to throw from different angles. If he can improve his quickness he has a chance to play MIF at the next level, otherwise he profiles better to third base. He can play and he will hit. Mike is a good student.
