2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Blanco is a slender 5-8 right handed pitcher from Miami with an advanced idea of how to pitch. He doesn’t have dominating stuff but he was pretty dominating in Fort Myers, striking out 10 hitters in 4 innings while allowing 1 run. Blanco has a loose arm that generates a 75-79 mph fastball that has good running life to it. His 64-66 mph curveball and 72 mph change up are pretty good pitches, too, and Blanco shows the ability to move the ball around and mix things up. Blanco should gain some strength as he further matures and throw harder. As long as he keeps the same approach to pitching, he should continue to have success.
