2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Quisenberry is a 6-6 left handed pitcher from Colorado who we understand is some relation to the late, great Dan Quisenberry. Quisenberry has long legs and arms and is very projectable to get stronger in the future. He threw 4 innings in Fort Myers, pitching at 73-75 mph with his fastball from a standard ¾’s release point and getting good left hander’s run at times. Quisenberry varied the speed on his curveball between 54 and 62 mph and had good depth on it at times, although he was also a bit inconsistent with his release point. He also threw a 59 mph change up. Quisenberry also showed us some ability with the bat. His swing is understandably long because of his frame and arms, but he generated good bat speed with some loft in his swing. Quisenberry took a very good batting practice, consistently centering the ball and also hit well in games. As he gets stronger, he could definitely develop some over the fence power. Overall, Quisenberry doesn’t throw hard now but he’s a 6-6 southpaw with an idea of how to pitch and a strong chance to improve in the future. Keep an eye on him. Quisenberry is also a very good student.
