Allan Cushing is a 2008 C/3B/P with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Puyallup, WA, who attends Rogers High S. Cushing has a medium frame. Defensively he has soft hands behind the plate with solid receiving skills. Cushing has solid footwork and he surrounds balls in the dirt. He has position flexibility being able to play first base as well as catch. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a narrow base. Cushing shows bat speed through the zone with a slight lift in his swing. He showed gap power in game action, and he battled during each at bat. He has the ability to hit to the opposite field. On the mound he throws from an over the top arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side. He is intense and he gets after the hitters. He gets cutting action on his fastball, and he mixes in a 62 mph breaking ball with 12/6 break. He struck out 4 in 2 IP. Cushing is an excellent student as well.
