Nicholas Schnell is a 2018 OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Indianapolis, IN who attends Roncalli HS. Long and lanky athletic build, lots of physical projection. 6.69 runner, athletic actions in the outfield with long strides through the ball, very good raw arm strength with accurate on line throws. Left handed hitter, hits from a wide base, creates lots of raw bat speed and can drive the ball hard to all fields, should keep adding bat speed as he gains more strength. Also pitched, long stride out front, 3/4's arm slot coming through, will spin off out front. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, gets good arm side running action. Young secondary pitches, tends to get under both a curveball and change up. Future is in the outfield and batter's box. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisville. Selected for the 2017 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
