George Williamson is a 2006 catcher from Corona Del Mar HS in Newport Beach, CA, with a 6'0", 198 lb. frame. Williamson is a strong catcher with a durable body. Defensively he is very good blocking balls in the dirt with nice footwork and used his chest well. At the plate he is a switch hitter who can flat out hit. He hits from an open and upright stance and has good bat speed from both sides, Williamson has strength in his swing and consistently hits the ball hard showing present raw power. He uses the whole field and will hit the ball with authority to all parts of the park. He does a great job keeping his hands back and driving balls to the opposite field, but he will also turn and hammer an inside pitch. Williamson will hit for power and average at the next level, and needs to be followed closely. He is also a good student.
