Blake Gould is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Kingwood, TX who attends Kingwood HS. Medium athletic build with very good strength, especially in the lower half. Leg raise delivery with good balance and pace early, accelerates to the plate and will fall off/open up early on release at times causing arm to be late coming through, arm is fast and loose. Fastball topped at 85 mph, mostly straight, functionally was his third best pitch this outing. Curveball is a potential plus pitch with better mechanics and command than his fastball, sharp biting action with steep 1/7 shape, has good feel for curveball location. Change up also shows big potential at 74 mph, nice arm speed and deception. Should continue to improve with delivery refinements, potential for three solid next level pitches. Right handed hitter, spread open stance, swings hard, stays too inside the ball at times, mid to opposite field contact, has the strength to improve as a hitter. 6.98 runner. Good student.
