Joe Robinson is a 2008 C/P with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Henderson, Nevada, who attends Green Valley High School. Robinson has a lean and lanky frame with long limbs. Defensively he has quickness behind the plate. He has a nice release, and his throws to second base are accurate. Robinson showed solid arm strength at 75 mph, and pop times around 2.00. At the plate he is aright handed hitter who hits from an upright stance with a narrow base. Robinson shows bat speed through the zone with a line drive swing plane. He gets his hands in position to hit, and he stays balanced through his swing. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side. Robinson has arm speed that helps produce a fastball that topped out at 81 mph with late tailing action. He also mixed in a 70 mph curveball. Robinson is a good student as well.
