Aaron Newberry is a 2006 left handed pitcher/outfielder from Oxford, AL with a big strong frame at 6-2, 205 lbs. He pitches from a low 3/4 slot with a quick short arm circle in back and a slinging action on the release. Newberry's arm is pretty clean and works well. His fastball tops at 81 mph with good tail. Aaron's slider is sharp at 74 mph showing decent depth. His change shows decent action at times at 73 mph. Defensively, he has a loose arm action that shows good strength at 82 mph from the outfield. Newberry hits from a wide base with little or no stride. He has a level swing plane and he generates good bat speed. Aaron makes solid contact and he can go the other way with hard line drives. He has a projectable pitchers body and he will be a top level prospect for 2006.
