2007 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Kevin Condon is a 2008 C/2B with a 5'9'', 175 lb. frame from Morton Grove, IL who attends Loyola Academy. He has a small/average frame and a lean, wiry strong body type. Condon gets after it and clearly loves to play, which at the catcher position is really important. He is the kind of player who attacks the game and works to make things happen. Offensively Condon is a switch-hitter with an aggressive nature. On the right side he showed a quick bat and an aggressive swing. On the left side he has more of a contact hitting approach. His swing plane is more consistent as a left hand hitter. Defensively Condon works hard behind the plate. He is a solid receiver. Condon has good agility and moves quickly to get into blocking position. He did a nice job of blocking and smothering the ball. His feet are quick and overall Condon has coachable defensive abilities.
