2007 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Paul Politi is a 2008 3B/2B with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Los Gatos, CA who attends Los Gatos HS. He was selected as a Top Prospect and is going to be an impact college player. Politi is the type of player whose uniform is dirty early in the game and once the game has finished he likely has done something positive with the glove and the bat. He has a good frame and a strong, lean and athletic build. Politi has strong hands that allow him to drive through the baseball. The results are line drives with carry into the gaps and someday home run power. He is aggerssive and his swing is alive. Politi is also a top level defensive player. He is a great combination of ability, instincts, and hard nosed style of play and the result is a plus defensive player. Politi has soft hands and a strong arm, with a quick release. He reads the ball well off the bat and has feel for the right hop. Everything he does happens with relative ease and there is still upside to his game. He is the type of player that enters college as a solid player but after three years is a pretty high round draft prospect.
