William Bourgein is a 2008 MIF with a 6'0'', 158 lb. frame from Orinda CA, who attends Miramonte HS. He has a lean, athletic build and should continue to add strength in the coming yeas. Bourgein is not a great runner but he is a good athlete. In the coming years he will outplay many of his peers that may actually have bigger tools. His game at-bats were very good, as is his overall approach to the game. He has a quick bat and a short stroke, maintaining balance throughout his swing. Bourgein sprays line drives to all fields and showed the ability to drive the ball into the gaps while also easily getting to the pull side. He has some projectable power that should come in college. In the field he showed good hands and a good middle infield release. He has fluid footwork and is a playmaker. Bourgein throws well on the move and throws accurately. His arm is good and will get better. He made a wow!-play diving for a pop-up over the tarp in foul ground. Bourgein is a player and should be a very significant contributor at the D1 level.
