Tyler Smith is a 2016 LHP/ with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from South Chesterfield, VA who attends James River. Tall, strong build with a good lower half. Has room to grow, still young. Works from a three-quarter arm slot and shows good sinking action on his fastball. Uses a high leg kick and tops out at 74 mph with his fastball. Shows good depth on an 11-5 curveball and also shows a changeup. Knows how to mix his off speed pitches. Also played the field, attacks the ball well in the outfield and makes accurate throws. Bats right-handed, works from an upright stance and keeps his hands inside the ball. Hits up the middle and flashes good bat speed. Excellent student.
