2007 Rising Juniors National Showcase
Tyler Harris is a 2009 1B/P with a 6'0'', 220 lb. frame from Turlock, CA who attends Pitman HS. He has a large frame and a heavy-set body, with broad shoulders and some present day strength. Harris showed that he can handle his pitch well. His barrel is long through the zone and when he was on time he showed some power potential. Harris is a big target at 1st base and moved fairly well around the bag. His hands world well in the field and he showed himself to be a steady defensive player. On the mound his 78-80 mph fastball had some run and he spun a mid-60s curveball pretty wel, with some action and some feel. In his second inning of work Harris got quite a few swing and misses with his curveball. His confidence was apparent on the mound. He is a solid student and has some ability that could continue to develop.
