John Mastrangelo is a 2014 3B/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Hamilton Township, NJ who attends Steinert. Large frame, strong athletic build. Impressive switch hitting two-way prospect. More natural right handed but showed good bat speed from both sides. Contact approach from the left side, shows more power from right, could develop from both sides over time. Crushed a ball in game action that registered at 90 mph off the bat, good strength and balance to swing. Loose arm action with good arm strength and quick actions defensively. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot with a short arm action. Up to 88 mph with good life, tight breaking 11-5 curveball, works quickly, flashed changeup as well.
