Andy McGuire is a 2013 SS/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Oakton, VA who attends James Madison HS. Very nice athletic build, strong and loose, fairly physically mature. 7.11 runner, excellent infield arm strength, throws are accurate with plus carry, moves easily on defense, has a feel working through the ball, body/tools say third base future but feel/arm gives him chance to stay at shortstop if he maintains his quickness. Right handed hitter, straight stance, simple basic swing approach, hands quick enough to turn on inside fastballs, shows some pull pop, squares up well and has barrel control. Aggressive player who likes to play and performs. better game player than showcase player. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas.
