Brian Seymour is a 2008 OF/P/1B with a 6'0'', 178 lb. frame from Hacienda Heights, CA, who attends Bishop Amat Memorial HS. Seymour is a young player with a medium sized frame and present strength. Defensively he has arm strength from the outfield with good arm speed. He moves well to the ball with fluid movements. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away stance with a flexed knee. Seymour has a good plane to the ball and the ball jumps off his bat when it is centered. He hit balls hard showing gap to gap power with more power to come. Shows good bat speed and uses a power approach at the plate. Great looking hitter with power projection. On the mound he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with solid arm action and good arm speed. He uses a drop and drive delivery, and stays online to the plate. Seymour throws a heavy fastball that tops out at 82 mph. He also mixes in a 72 mph sweeping curveball, and a 72 mph change up with good arm side fade. His changeup is very effective and should be used more. He did not allow a run in his 2 innings while striking out 2. Two-way prospect with upside, and he is a good student as well.
