Ian Sanders is a 2007 MIF from Bellmont HS, residing in Decatur, IN, with a 5'11" 165 lb. frame. Sanders has an average athletic build. At the plate he has a steep swing plane that creates some spin off the bat, if he is on-time. There was a lot of movement in the box... it didn't look like he was too comfortable. Sanders does possess some bat speed. When he can pick up the ball earlier he will start to make more consistent contact. He showed himself to be a contact type hitter and frequently got to the pull side. On defense Sanders has a quick release and good hands. He took decent angles to the ball and simply made plays. He is not flashy but is efficient. Consider Sanders a follow prospect at the small college level.
