Hougen is a big 6 foot 4 right-hander who can flat out pitch and loves to use all of his stuff against hitters. He showed an offensive bulldog mentality on the mound and that is nice to see from a tall 190 pound pitcher with a very good body, good arm and projectability. He showed a fastball almost exclusively on the low, outer half between 82-84 mph. His offspeed pitches consisted of a 67 mph curve and a 70-73 mph change-up. Both pitches were very effective and used in odd counts. With good spin on the curve and plus life on his change there is a good future for Hougen at the next level. He showed a lot in Waco and needs to be seen by every D1 Coach in the South. He can pitch. We would bet that he normally throws harder than what we saw in Waco. For sure he will end up throwing much harder. Keaton is a very good student.
