2003 Spring Showcase
At 5 foot 10 and 200 pounds, Applegate looks like he packs a punch and at his age he is off to a good start. Just a sophomore, he showed some pop in his bat and switch-hitting ability too. He is a catcher who showed that he knows the meaning and importance of defense. We noticed that he called a good game and has some mature actions for his age. He tracks the ball well and looks like he will has the ability to get the ball in play often. Keep an eye out for him next year.
