Tanner Hakert is a 2014 LHP/OF, 1B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Iowa City, IA who attends Iowa City West. Hakert has a medium sized frame with a lean wiry build and room to fill. He pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. His arm works well and he has an easy arm action. Hakert works quick and has a high leg lift. He works his fastball in and out well and keeps the ball down. Hakert has some run on his fastball and he repeats his delivery well. He also throws a slider at 67 MPH with good tilt and action to it. Defensively Hakert has solid actions in the outfield and plays through the ball well. He moves to the ball well in the outfield and attacks the ball well. At the plate, Hakert starts with a wide stance and uses a toe touch trigger to start his swing. He has good rhythm to his swing and good bat speed. Hakert looks to pull and lift and has an aggressive approach. Very good student.
