2006 Mid-Atlantic Underclass Showcase
Austin Ayers is a 2011 SS/OF that attends Manchester HS and resides in Chesterfield County, VA with a 5'9", 140 lb. frame. Austin has a lean athletic build with room to fill out. He was one of the youngest players at the event, but showed a great amound of potential. At the plate Austin shows a advanced approach at the plate. He keeps his hands inside the ball well and is able to turn on the ball. In the field Austin has polished actions with a nice glove. He has a short arm action and looks like he could be a solid fielder in time. On the mound Austin throws from a long arm circle with smooth mechanics and good arm speed. His command is good and he has a solid 10 to 4 CB. He is very efficient with his pitches and makes hitters put the ball in play. Austin is a kid that you will be hearing alot about in the future and has a lot of upside at many different positions.
