2005 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Schupp is a 5-10, 180 lb senior infielder from North Carolina. He ran the 60 in 7.81 and threw 73 mph during infield drills. Schupp is a primary shortstop at this point and made the routine plays cleanly during the games at that position, but his range and arm strength is much better suited to second base at the next level. At the plate, Schupp has a short, compact swing with some hand strength and quickness. He shows good bat head skills and made consistent hard contact to where the ball was pitched. With a metal bat at the high school level Schupp looks like a probable high average hitter. He's the type of player who is going to play above his physical tools. Schupp is also an excellent student. His twin brother Robert also particpated in the showcase.
