2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Steele is a 6-1 right handed pitcher from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has a tall slender frame that has plenty of room to add strength. Steele is a submarine style pitcher who throws his fastball in the 66-70 mph range and gets plenty of drop and tail on his pitches because of his arm action and release point. He threw a lot of ground balls during his 4 innings of work and is primarily a sinkerball pitcher. Pitchers like this can have a lot of success at the college level if they can get their fastballs up in the upper 70’s and can develop command of some sort of sweeping breaking ball. Steele has the type of body to add strength and velocity over the next few years. Steele is a 7.90 runner who showed a bit of loft in his swing during batting practice.
