Ryan Schwenn is a 2008 IF/C/P with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ, who attends Horizon High School. Schwenn has a good frame that is lean and projectable. Defensively he has solid actions on the infield. He gets to the ball well, and has a quick arm on his throws across the diamond. Behind the plate he sets up well, and he receives with soft hands. Schwenn has position flexibility. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an average base with a high back elbow and high hands. Schwenn is a balanced hitter who shows bat speed through the zone, and he has nice swing mechanics. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed. He has a high leg kick hiding the ball from the hitter. He throws down hill, and he gets sink on his fastball at 79 mph. He also mixed in a loose curveball at 66 mph. He is a good student as well.
