Berndt is a 5-10, 160 lb senior right handed hitting outfielder from Illinois with a small, wiry strong frame. He also plays some infield and profiles well at second base. Berndt's best tool is his speed. He was a 7.01 runner in the 60 and shows good range in the outfield and good quickness on the bases. He's also a good instinctive baserunner who made good decisions. Berndt his from a tall stance with busy feet and a quick, short swing. He keeps it simple with a level cut and looks like he likes to pull the ball and did so hard a number of times. Berndt is a good fundamental hitter now and should improve with more strength. With his speed and baserunning ability he fits the leadoff role well. Berndt is a very good student who should be able to take his game to the next level.
