Matt Reynolds is a 2008 SS/P/IF with a 5'10'', 145 lb. frame from Marion, Iowa, who attends Linn Mar High School. Reynolds has a lean and athletic body with projection. He has solid speed in the sixty (7.00) and shows quickness on the bases and in the field. Defensively he has sound fundamentals in the middle of the diamond with quickness in his feet. He has solid arm strength on his throws from the hole reaching 79 mph. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away stance. Reynolds has a simple swing, and he keeps his weight back well. He is a line drive hitter who hits to all fields. He is aggressive with fastballs and takes a good swing. Reynolds also track curveballs well picking the pitch up early. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and his arm works well. Reynolds has good mechanics and his fastball topped out at 79 mph. He also mixed in a change with occasional sink at 71 mph. He is also a good student.
