Gene Felise is a 2008 C/UT with a 5'8'', 189 lb. frame from San Leandro CA, who attends San Leandro HS. He has a compact, strong build and some power in his body. Felise is a pretty well-rounded college catching prospect. He has a strong arm and the ball really exits his hand well, tracking accurately on-line to the bag. His in-game throws were good too. Felise has a nice transfer and good feet. He blocks well and puts in good effort on the defensive side of the game. At the plate he had numerous quality at-bats. He is aggressive, with a pullside approach, showing some power to the pullside. Felise transfers his weight to his front foot, and showed good timing to the contact point. He is a solid college prospect and a good student.
