Kory Maier is a 2007 OF/P with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Park Falls WI, who attends Park Falls HS. He has a slender build with projectable strength. Maier is a very good runner, with an easy running stride and lots of bounce to his step. He ran the 60 in 6.87. Maier had good actions to the ball in the outfield and showed nice arm strength and on line carry. He could speed up his release a bit. Offensively, Maier hits out of a wide stance with no stride and pre loaded hands. He has a short, line drive swing and uses his quick hands well to get the bat head to the ball. His approach is contact oriented and he will need to make adjustments along with adding strength to hit for power, but with his speed he's taking advantage of his present tools well. Maier is a good student as well.
